Cortell Renovation Update! Fresh Facelift

Blog by Stu Bell | December 8th, 2011

This past week I transformed the exterior and interior of my house on Cortell with 6 quarts of paint from Benjamin Moore.

The gingerbread Pink front Doors are now a dramatic semi-gloss Black perfect for a classic brass lion head door knocker which I'm on the search for. The living room from Macdonalds Red and Yelow to crisp Cotton Ball white wainscoting with modern Gettysburg Grey Trim, the fireplace from red to white, and the bedroom from mango and cream to white with bold Iron Grey trim. The interior doors from yellow to dark Charcoal grey, and the mudroom and hallway from cream and yellow to Nantucket Grey, a rich greeny grey, slightly lighter than Gettysburg Grey. Lastly, the Den from Mango to Gettysburg Grey to tie in with the entry and bring the firs and greenspace from outdoors in, framed by white trim.

The transformation was better than I could have imagined and must be seen first hand to truly appreciate the beauty of the new colors. I love it:)

Many thanks to the Design Projects mastermind Missy Kaniuk (DesignProject.ca) for choosing these amazing colors and to Drew George, Jan Madsen, and Kevin Hooper for helping me with supplies and skilled painting.

Stay tuned for more updates as all the trades specialists are in place for the basement reno into a self contained 1 bedroom suite. The floor levelers come on Tuesday, followed by framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, floors, kitchen, and more painting!
